Welcome to GEOS111

centre point

GEOS111 Geographies of Global Change introduces key concepts of human geography with a specific focus on the local impacts of a range of ‘global’ changes approached through social, cultural, economic and political doorways. These changes include: continued urbanisation, international migration, the emergence of ‘global cities’, globalisation of clothing and tourism industries, contemporary geopolitics and rapid social and economic changes in the Asia Pacific Region especially in China. GEOS111 takes some first steps towards establishing what globalisation might be and how it affects people’s everyday lives.
